Simulation DATA is a recently established company being set up for the constitution, the management, the qualification and the treatment of database for aeronautical simulation. The developing Team is partly identical to that of France VFR® and has been constituted under a new label in order to clearly distinguish from the France VFR product range and propose a radically different approach.
Obstacles and Landmarks VFR – FRANCE is an add-on for the Microsoft® Flight Simulator® covering the entire French territory by adding to the initial scenery more than 500 000 objects including the totality of objects listed by the SIA (French Aeronautical Service Information) that have been geo-referenced and qualified.
The ambition of this scenery is to set a veritable reference for objects and VFR landmarks for navigation in aerial simulation. For this reason we will put into place follow-ups and reporting of the work in progress and will include customer remarks that will allow further specifications and modifications just as the addition of new groups of objects.
More than 3500 official obstacles listed by the SIA :
+ 1 000 Radio masts and towers, telecommunication pylons
+ 1 000 Telecommunication relays and radio link tours
+ 200 Air-cooling tours and industrial chimneys and flares
+ 500 Water-towers
+ Lighthouses
+ Churches
+ Bridges and Viaducts
+ Nuclear and Heat Plants
Details and types of landmarks included :
+ 350 000 high-voltage electrical transmission line towers with bi-coloured mark-balls on the lines close to the airports
+ 3000 high-voltage transmission substations
+ 3000 Windmills
+ 55 000 churches, cathedrals, basilicas

Obstacles and Landmarks VFR - FRANCE is delivered for both FSX-SP2 (DirectX® 9) and FS2004. It is entirely compatible with all other add-ons, all type of landclass or photo scenery, as far as these latest are correctly geo-referenced.
Its installation will not make any modification of the file system of FSX and/or FS2004 and the scenery can simply be activated or disactivated by clicking within the decor library.
